Flashing SPC880NC to SPC900NC on Windows 7 Pro

1. Install Windows XP Mode and Windows Virtual PC.

2. Launch Windows XP Mode.

3. Install WcRmac and WcCTrl.

4. Download ConversionPack.zip .

5. Extract spc900nc.bin from the ConversionPack.zip into C:\Program Files\TWIRG\WcRmac\binary\8116 or the folder that WcRmac is installed.

6. Download the SPC880NC driver and extract the driver spc880nc.inf .

7. Connect the webcam into the USB port. On the Windows Virtual PC window, Go to USB tab and click "Unidentified Device Attach". Found New Hardware Wizard window will open and select "No, not this time" when ask to connect to Windows Update for the driver. On the next window, choose "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)". Then, choose "Search for the best driver from these location" and point to the location of the spc880nc.inf folder. The camera will be recognised as PCVC750K. The webcam will appear in My Computer and clicking the icon will launch the camera. Verify if it is working and leave the preview mode open.

8. Launch WcRmac. Read the warning and check the 'OK...' box to accept the full risk. Go to WebCat>DS Interface. Select Phillips PCVC750K and click Connect. Go to Binaries Tab and select spc900nc.bin that was extracted in Step 5. Click "Load into cam". Wait for the firmware flashing to finish.

9. Download and install SPC900NC Windows XP driver.

10. After the firmware flashing has finished, unplug and replug the webcam from the USB port. On the Windows Virtual PC window, Go to USB tab and click "Unidentified Device Attach". The driver will be found automatically due to Step 9. The webcam will available in My Computer as SPC900NC and verify if it is working. Leave the preview mode open.

11. Launch WcRmac again. Read the warning and check the 'OK...' box to accept the full risk. Goto WebCam>DS Interface. Select Phillips SPC 900NC and click Connect. Go to Macros tab, select "Set OPTIMIZED COLOR...". Click "Run checked". Info box will show "macro(s) success". Close WcRMac.

12. Launch WcCtrl. Click "Connect a Cam" and choose the SPC 900NC. Go to the Secondary tab, click "Factory Setting". The webcam is now an SPC 900NC.

14. Exit Windows XP Mode. Download Windows 7 driver and install it in the Windows 7 PC. Use SharpCap or AmCap for capturing video.

  2. Pity you saw fit to STEAL this information from my site and to have the damned cheek to link to files on MY servers! Whether you referenced it at the top or not, you have in fact been STEALING my bandwidth by outside linking! Think yourself lucky i havent reported you to your hosts!
